Hello, everyone.  My name is Caroline Casey, and I’m the founding heart behind The Valuable 500.  
皆さん、こんにちは。私は「The Valuable 500」を立ち上げたキャロライン・ケイシーです。 

I am absolutely thrilled to be joining you today at such a digital accessibility event. 
今日は、このようなデジタル・アクセシビリティに関するイベントに参加できることを大変うれしく思います。

And the importance of this as we try to create a world where everyone belongs and is connected. 
デジタル・アクセシビリティは、誰もが受け入れられ、つながっている世界を作ろうとしている私達にとって、とても重要なものです。

Also, thank you so much for the huge love that you sent me by including me and The Valuable 500 in your blog.  
また、私やThe Valuable 500をブログに掲載し大きな愛を示してくださったことにも感謝しています。

It means a huge amount.  
これは非常に大きな意味があります。

I am so proud to be with you, be at virtually, today.  
バーチャルではありますが、こうして参加できることをとても誇りに思っています。

I have so much love for Japan.
私は日本が大好きです。

And for all that it does, with The Valuable 500 to its 53 companies and the support of The Nippon Foundation, to drive change; changing disability to value. 
The Valuable 500は、加盟する日本企業53社の活動や日本財団の支援により、障害を価値に変えるような変革を推進しています。

Together, we can actually make that change happen around the world 
if we each take responsibility to change the systems around us.  
私たち一人ひとりが責任感を持って行動すれば、システムを変えることは可能なのです。

The Valuable 500 was created because it understands the power of business to change society.  
The Valuable 500を創ったのは、社会を変えるビジネスの力を理解しているからですが、

But most importantly, it was created because we believe that connection with others changes the world.  
最も重要なのは人とのつながりが世界を変えると信じているからです。

And that’s the theme of today’s event.  
それが、今日のイベントのテーマでもあります。

For us, The Valuable 500, was connecting the world’s most influential and important CEOs. 
私たちにとって、The Valuable 500は世界で最も影響力のある重要なCEOたちを結びつけ、

 So they, with their brands and their businesses and employees, 
彼らのブランド、ビジネス、従業員を介して

could innovate for disability inclusion globally.  
障害者インクルージョンを世界的に革新するためのものでした。

For decades, disability remained on the sidelines of business. 
何十年もの間、障害者はビジネスの傍観者であり続けました。

 Oh, so many do not understand that disability brings innovation, 
and insight, and value, and customers to the business eco system.  
障害者がビジネスのエコシステムにイノベーションや洞察力、価値、顧客をもたらすことを、多くの人が理解していないのです。

When we began The Valuable 500, it seemed like it was impossible.  
私たちがThe Valuable 500を始めたとき、世界的革新を起こすなど不可能なことのように思えました。

Often making big change does.

But it really demonstrates the power of connecting others together. 
しかし、The Valuable 500は人々を結びつける力を如実に示しています。

 Because when we got one, we got two, and now we are at 500.

Our 500 companies including our 53 Japanese organizations 
extend to 20 million people across the world.

And imagine what it is with the supply chains.

 Therefore, when we speak about accessibility and how important it is for connection, 
ですから、アクセシビリティや、それが「繋がり」に果たす役割の重要性について語るとき、

we no longer can make excuses.  
もはや言い訳はできません。

This event today is really making the case the digital accessibility is no longer a choice, 
今日のイベントは、デジタル・アクセシビリティはもはや選択肢のひとつではなく、

but it is essential and it is possible. 
必要不可欠であり実現可能であるということを表しています。

If there is one thing that we discovered during this pandemic 
COVID-19のパンデミックで分かったのは、

is that the digital accessibility connects the world.  
デジタル・アクセシビリティが世界を繋ぐということです。

And though we have the digital accessibility, and that is possible because the technology is there. 
テクノロジーがあれば、デジタル・アクセシビリティを確保することは可能なのです。

 It is the heart and the will of all of us to accept nothing less.  
That will make the change.
「それ以下のものは受け入れない」という私たち全員の心と意志。それが変化をもたらすのです。

I know everyone in Japan is equally as committed as we are around the world.  
日本の皆さんにも、私達と同じように固い決意があると信じています。

Together, we have this incredible moment and time using digital accessibility and our hearts and our minds to drive disability to value.  
私たちはデジタル・アクセシビリティと心と知力を使い、障害を価値あるものにするためにこの素晴らしい瞬間を共に過ごしています。

I thank you so much for including us from Ireland to Japan,

and I wish you the very best for your event.
